    Hi All,

I just wanted to ask about the running exercise of one of my sessions. As I currently train at home (not yet got the confidence to go outside and not sure where I could go to train with others) and one of my sessions require 40 running x2, is there a way to emulate this at home in the house that would give me the desired effect?

    Thanks.

  2. Some ideas:
    -Kettlebell swings
    -Jumping jacks
    -Mountain climbers
    -Rope skipping

But modification = no star workout

How many reps would you do of those replacement exercises you mentioned?

Damn! no star, oh well, I can be sure that I will achieve the star before my Home Country ever achieves a gold one in either the UEFA Euro or Worldcup, saying that, my grandchildren most probably will too :)

    Thanks for info

You don't even need to replace running by something radically different. Simply run on the same place (static running).

    To avoid distorting your results:

    • do it a first time outside the real way, the entire workout. See how long it takes you to do the 2 x 40m (I insist on the entire workout as it's not the same thing runing 4x40m with fresh legs or after burpees). If real running takes you, for example, 15s-17s, do 20s of static running (the idea is to avoid cutting corners ).
    • Mid-exercise (10s in my example), touch the ground just like you are supposed to when doing it outside.
    • when doing static running raise your knees up-to waist level. That will make the exercise very cardio intensive and ensure that you really shift your weight from on leg to another.

    My 2 cents...
