Hello, First a little background. I'm 1m75 and weight 82 kg (24% Bodyfat according to my scale). I used to weight 92kg then lost 23 kg in 6 months and took back 13kg in 7 months. I lost all my weight by just eating more healthy (was working) and took it all back by eating junk (was at school and there is some kind of social pressure to go eat and get junk food). I'm now working again and will certainly lose some weight since I'm eating more healthy as I was last time (Basically low carb and allow myself a threat every 2 weeks or so). I eat around 1200 kcal a day ( 100 gram protein), I'm having a hard time eating more (give me junk food and i'll consume 3 000 kcal per day but with healthy food I find myself not binging and getting rid of hunger more rapidly. I also started Freelectics strength earlier this week and did two sessions so far. I feel like I'm really bad. Max Pullups : 5 Max Squats : 80 Max Pushups : 18 Max Burbpee : 38 All using the easier version at some point. I have absolutely no sports background. I'm really sore I even have trouble walking up & down stairs but I was wondering if that was enough ? Will I get results with so low performance ? Won't my diet interfere in a bad way ? Any tips, advises, suggestions ? Cheers, MySocks.
Haha MySocks, great nick first of all Secondly most of us started off feeling like they would die the first few weeks I personally did have a sports background, decent condition, could run 8k easy and believe me I was sore sitting or just laying on my back the first few times What I'm trying to say: the soreness is totally normal, just make sure you warm up properly, stretch, take a hot shower afterworths and use some kind of muscle relaxing gel after. You will continue to feel sore during and right after the workouts, but for me I haven't had too many more days I couldn't get up You do eat really little, but I think this will change over time since you'll be burning more calories you'll start to consume more. But hey, weight and calories don't say everything, I was 60kg before I started freeletics and I ate for 2... Still couldn't gain any weight. Now after 80 days I gained 3kg (which is a lot for me) but my form is better than ever ^^ It really depends from person to person and if you want to spend the money I can really advice the nutrition guide, great advice together with delicious recipes (well according to me that is) Keep going and succes! Hey, I was supposed to do my first Aphrodite today but first of all is that for real ? We have to do 5 sessions in one ? I started earlier today and it took me 13 min to finish the first session then around 20 minutes to finish the second part of Aphrodite and I feinted during one of my burpee of the 3rd part ... I stopped after that ... I was shivering covered in sweat and feinted (passed out a couple of seconds I guess). I have been resting for the rest of the day and feel like shit, I'm not even able to complete the first session and next week there is going to be 4 like that ? How is that humanly possible. I feel like I'm not in such a bad shape even though I'm not into sports at all and not being able to complete the first session is really frustrating to me ... Considering I passed out I really feel that this is not safe for me and I'm considering not pursuing this. Burpee is in my opinion the bitch even the easy version seems impossible to perform correctly after a set of 10.
Hi Yeah, it is a killer the first time you do it. I did the 5 free weeks before I started the coach and I can honestly say that was even worse You should try and take it easy, do the easy version of the exercice right at the beginning and take it easy. Don't mind the time so much and just try to get through the entire thing. No matter if it takes an hour or more, you will get better! The reason you passed out is probably because you never did something as crazy as freeletics and probably because you got into it a bit too fast. Take it easy, drink enough, take a few breaks if necessary. If I remember correctly it took me about 10 or more Aphrodites (before I started any program) before I could complete the entire session in one go. But now I practically sprint through it & times of 25minutes for the entire session seem almost obligatory Anyhow, the slogan of freeletics is NEVER QUIT & the reason for this is that your body adapts faster than we believe (mentally). Your brain will stay stop, I can't take this, but your body will adapt and in the end it's more than worth it
Well waited a day to rest and tried again monday night but went slowly but at a steady pace and finished my first Aphrodite in 41 minutes. I don't know if it because I drank a lot or because my body has adapt a bit already or because of the slower start but it felt easier. My first week took me 8 days but I think it's ok. I'm just really sacred with week 2 when I see all these exercise like Poseidon x2 at some point
Hmm, Poseidon in week 2, that is funny... Not sure when I did it the first time, but it wasn't week 2 . Anyhow, it's not that a difficult exercice. It's "quite" short and only focusses on your arms. It is allowed to split up 2 workouts between the hours of the day. You can do one in the morning and one in the evening. Again take it easy, don't start like an energy rabbit and really relax your arms between the sessions if you're having trouble. There's no shame in taking a break (just not half an hour break). It's not a speed contest, not yet anyhow XD Start with completing every session, once you get better speed will get more important to improve yourself. But the most important factor is to always keep a good form, without this you are prone to get sore muscles or even strain one, so be careful. Grats on completing the first week and keep going! Good luck! Jeroen
