Hi all, Just a quick question. I sometimes wonder how to breath with certain exercises. Correct me if i am wrong. - With a pull up you "breath out" when you go up and "breath in" when you go down. - With a leg raises on a pull bar you "breath out" when your legs go up to your arms and breath in when you go down. Any of you maybe have a way to remember how to correctly breath with exercises or a site? Any tips are welcome, thanks
Seems right to me, while doing pullups breathing out when going up and breathing out while going down.
Generally it does not matter in which part of an exercise you breath in and out as long as you do it and regularly and constantly. However you seem to have better performance if you breath in while releasing tension (e.g. going down in the pull-up motion, going down in the pushup motion, lowering your legs while doing leg levers etc.) and breath out while building up tension (e.g. pulling yourself up during a pullup etc.) Hope this helps: in short: breath regulary and constantly (obviously), and if you can, exhale while building up tension and inhale while releasing tension.
